Description

San Rocco Beach Club is the perfect holiday location in the deep south of Italy in the lovely region of Calabria. Set just 100m from the stunning azure waters of the Ionian Sea, the development offers something for all the family.

.The light and airy, attractive properties are located in asymmetric blocks arranged around an inviting swimming pool and in stunning gardens full of Mediterranean colours and scents.

The low level development has been designed in local materials to compliment the beautiful area. The interiors boast well equipped kitchens, bathrooms and sitting rooms with balconies. San Rocco Beach Club offers luxury at an affordable price with all the family in mind.

The beautiful 4km long white, sandy beach lapped by the Ionian Sea is ideal for enjoying the fabulous climate and is just a stone's throw from the San Rocco apartments. Investors in the development also have the added bonus of a personal invitation to become a member of the nearby Sports Centre. The facility boasts a fitness zone which includes running and weight machines, exercise bikes and dance classes as well as a its own games room, internet access and Sky Television. Closer to home, the development has its own bar as well as a swimming pool.

There is a beautiful new marina to enjoy in town too. The new facility already hosts 300 berths and a further expansion is underway. Boats can be hired and trips out on to the Ionian Sea arranged as well as the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of watersports.

The area is ideal for divers with riches galore beneath the surface. A rare reef of black coral was discovered recently and there is much on offer for the amateur archaeologist too.

Location
Back on dry land, the San Rocco Beach Club is close to the lovely hillside village of Isca where time appears to have stood still. Fascinating narrow alleys crisscross the village and are home to an array of local restaurants and family run shops. Fragrant pines and chestnut forests line the local hills, giving the area its own very distinctive Italian flavour.

For the fun loving Soverato, just down the road, has so much to offer. Designer boutiques and jewellers crowd the pedestrianised centre which overlooks the lovely bay, the Gulf of Squillace. The town is packed with bars and restaurants and in summer there is a nightly funfair on the town's beach. Not for nothing is Soverato known as the gem of the Ionian.

This area was originally settled by the Greeks, who loved the fabulous food available on their doorstep. Today Calabria is just as famous for its local dishes which make good use of tomatoes, aubergines and peppers which are abundant in this perfect climate. The rich harvest of fish from the Ionian Sea is much enjoyed locally too.

The temperature in the Toe of Italy seldom drops below 15C in the winter months and home owners at San Rocco Beach Club will enjoy warm sunshine from March to November. During the summer there are daily temperatures of 25C plus, which makes bathing a pleasure and this continues well into the winter months. The Ionian coast is noted for being drier than other parts of Calabria too.

Getting to San Rocco could not be more simple. Excellent roads now link the area to the modern Lamezia Terme airport, half an hour away. Budget airlines serve the airport which is two hours fly time from most of the major European cities.
